Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 15, 2026
This policy explains how Quran Day handles your information. Quran Day is provided by Evgeny Muravyev. Questions: hello@quranday.app.
1. The short version
- You don't need an account.
- Your saved ayahs, reflections and reading progress stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We can't see them.
- We use Google Analytics and Amplitude to understand how the app is used. They don't receive which ayahs you read, which prayers you pray, or what you write.
- We don't sell your data, and the app has no ads.
2. Information on your iPhone and in your iCloud
- Saved ayahs, reflections and reading progress
- Prayers you mark and your reminder settings
- Videos you record in the app, on your iPhone only
- Your last known location and city, on your iPhone only
If iCloud is on for the app, Apple stores and syncs your saved ayahs, reflections and progress in your private iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy. If it is off, this information stays on your iPhone.
You can delete this information by deleting the app and removing its data from iCloud in iPhone Settings. It may remain in your own device backups.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Amplitude to see how the app is used, and Firebase Crashlytics to fix crashes. These services receive:
- A random app ID
- App version, iOS version, device model, and language and region
- Actions in the app, such as opening a tab or screen, time on a screen, how many ayahs you scroll, saving, sharing or using prayer mode
- Crash details
They don't receive which ayahs you read, which prayers you pray, the text of your reflections or your precise location. They can tell your approximate location, such as your city, from your connection. We don't connect this data to your name. Google Analytics keeps this data for 14 months under our settings, counted from your last activity in the app. Each service handles data under its own terms and may process it outside your country.
Our website, quranday.app, also uses Google Analytics to see general usage. It uses cookies, and Google receives information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device, and your approximate location.
4. Permissions
The app asks for these only for the features that need them. You can change them at any time in iPhone Settings.
- Location: to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction and to show your city. It is used on your device and isn't sent to us. Apple's service converts your location into a city name.
- Camera and microphone: to record you reading an ayah. Recordings stay on your iPhone unless you share them.
- Photos: to save images and videos you choose to save.
- Notifications: to remind you about prayers. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
5. Services we use
- Apple: App Store, payments, iCloud, location services and notifications.
- Google: analytics and crash reports, as described above.
- Amplitude: analytics, as described above.
- Cloudflare: hosting for quranday.app and the app's version check. The app sends its version number to check that it is still supported. We keep only a count of each version. Like any web host, Cloudflare can see your IP address when the app or site connects.
6. Subscriptions
If you subscribe, Apple handles payment. We don't receive your card details. We can see subscription status, such as the plan and whether it is active.
7. What you share
If you share an image, video or text, the service you share it with handles it under its own policy.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to hello@quranday.app. We don't keep accounts or link analytics to your name, so we may not be able to find information about you.
9. Children
Quran Day has no age limit and is for a general audience. It isn't aimed specifically at children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or on this page.
